PMEGP Loan Scheme

Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme

Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicant must be above 18 years of age.
  • Minimum educational qualification: 8th pass for projects costing above ₹10 Lakhs in manufacturing and ₹5 Lakhs in business/service sector.
  • Only new projects/units are eligible. Self-help groups and charitable trusts can also apply.
Benefits & Subsidy
  • Financial assistance up to ₹50 Lakhs for manufacturing units and ₹20 Lakhs for service units.
  • Government subsidy ranges from 15% to 35% of the project cost depending on category (General/Reserved) and area (Rural/Urban).
Application Process

Apply online via the official KVIC PMEGP portal. Submit project report, Aadhaar, PAN, caste certificate (if applicable), and educational documents. Verified by DIC/KVIC/Coir Board and disbursed through banks.

PM Vishwakarma Loan Scheme

Support for traditional artisans and craftspeople

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be engaged in traditional trades (e.g., carpenter, blacksmith, potter, goldsmith, weaver, mason, etc.).
  • Age should be at least 18 years on the date of registration.
  • Family-based traditional employment; only one member per family is eligible for benefits.
Benefits & Subsidy
  • Collateral-free enterprise development loan up to ₹3 Lakhs (Tranche 1: ₹1 Lakh for 18 months, Tranche 2: ₹2 Lakhs for 30 months).
  • Concessional interest rate fixed at just 5%.
  • PM Vishwakarma certificate, ID card, skill training (with stipend ₹500/day), and toolkit incentive of ₹15,000.
Application Process

Register through Common Service Centers (CSCs) using Aadhaar, mobile verification, and bank details. Verification by Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Body followed by district committee approval.

PM-KUSUM Yojna

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan

Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen and an active farmer, farmer producer organization (FPO), or cooperative society.
  • Valid land ownership documents or lease agreement for solar power plant installation.
Benefits & Subsidy
  • Up to 60% subsidy for setting up solar water pumps (Component B) and solar grid-connected plants (Component C).
  • Farmers can earn extra income by selling surplus solar power back to the grid.
Application Process

Apply via state renewable energy portal or national MNRE/KUSUM portal. Submit land papers, bank account, and identity proof. Pay farmer share upon approval to initiate installation.

PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojna

Free rooftop solar electricity scheme

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be an Indian citizen with a suitable rooftop house for solar panel installation.
  • Must have a valid electricity connection and consumer account number.
Benefits & Subsidy
  • Financial subsidy covering up to 40% to 60% of rooftop solar unit cost (approx. ₹30,000 to ₹78,000 depending on capacity up to 3kW).
  • Free electricity up to 300 units per month and savings on power bills.
Application Process

Register on the national PM Surya Ghar portal with your state electricity distribution company (DISCOM) details, choose a registered vendor, get the installation done, and submit inspection details for direct subsidy transfer into your bank account.

PM Pashudhan Yojna (AHIDF / Dairy Support)

Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development & Livestock Support

Eligibility Criteria
  • Farmers, dairy cooperatives, individual entrepreneurs, FPOs, and Section 8 companies.
  • Must have adequate land or arrangement for dairy farming, cattle rearing, or feed plant setup.
Benefits & Subsidy
  • Loan support up to 90% of total project cost from scheduled banks.
  • Interest subvention of 3% and credit guarantee fund support to minimize financial risk.
Application Process

Applications are filed online through the AHIDF portal or NABARD/SIDBI linked banking channels with a detailed project report (DPR) and collateral security where required.

PMMY - Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan

Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency Bank

Eligibility Criteria
  • Any Indian citizen having a business plan for non-farm income-generating activities (manufacturing, processing, trading, or service sector).
  • No prior default with any bank or financial institution.
Categories & Benefits
  • Shishu: Loans up to ₹50,000 (For startups/initial setup).
  • Kishore: Loans from ₹50,000 to ₹5 Lakhs (For growing business).
  • Tarun: Loans from ₹5 Lakhs up to ₹10 Lakhs (For established business expansion).
